Krishinda

  • I work with adults with developmental disabilities like cerebral palsy, autism, down syndrome and epilepsy. It’s so rewarding because I help participants develop skills and encourage individual choice.
  • I attended an HBCU (historically black college university) in Houston, Texas, where I studied Aviation Management.
  • When I’m not working, I enjoy water activities like swimming, tubing, and hitting the jet skis. My first job was being a lifeguard and swim instructor.
  • My family gave me the nickname “Shinda Popper” because I could never sit still as a kid. I was always dancing and popping everywhere I went.
  • I’m a member of the Lupus Foundation of America and I participate in Walks to End Lupus, so that we can raise money for lupus research and to increase lupus awareness.
